Older Works
Room
An experimental object animation shot on 16mm film.
Room is my graduation work for The Academy of Arts, Turku. It is still one of the most important works for me personally.
Already in this work I have applied artistic principles essential for my method, e.g. avoiding the use of characters and leaving out a clear, linear, readily interpreted story.
I built a surreal world of objects in an old shack in a forest. I animated the objects objectively. My goal was to avoid building characters for the objects.
Production by Turku Arts Academy.
The music for the work is composed by Samuli Paavilainen.
English Lessons, College
A Turun Anikistit co-production.
English Lessons episode College.
Object animation.
When starting to design this work, I had been interested in animating organic material for a long time.
For the episode that deals with the pressures of adapting to the demands of society, I chose fish innards as my material. The material was obtained from fish industry.
I continued working with organic material in my next work Good Stuff.
The music for the work is composed by Risto Ylihärsilä.
